A Content Management System (CMS) is a special type of website where you can edit the content without any technical knowledge:

• Easy to edit.  The content of live site can be changed at will, only requiring a similar technical skill level to using a word-processor.
• Change when you want.  You can edit your web site anywhere, anytime, through your web browser.

A web designer & web developer are still needed at the beginning to set up the CMS (for the graphic design, creating re-useable page templates and adding any custom components).  The designer & developer are not then needed for the day-to-day management of the site's content.

Appetere base our Content Management Systems on a third-party software package called Kentico CMS.

Kentico CMS is a very flexible system and readily scales from small & simple requirements, to large & complex.

The system has many features & configurable modules, which allow us to design & build a robust solution quickly & economically.   A small selection includes:

We can also add custom functionality to supplement the wide range of pre-built modules available (its underlying technology is one of the industry's standards, Microsoft's ASP.NET).

Kentico CMS has a free edition, suitable for learning & simple web sites, and a range of charged-for, licenced editions for more complex requirements.
